RAWALPINDI, PAKISTAN — Emergency services in Rawalpindi responded to a total of 472 emergencies during the recent Eidul Azha holidays, according to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122.

Among the reported incidents, 118 were road traffic accidents that occurred across various parts of the garrison city. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in these accidents during the Eid period.

The breakdown of other emergencies includes 264 medical incidents, 22 fire incidents, and 15 crime-related incidents. Tragically, one drowning incident was also reported.

Overall, 26 deaths were recorded during the Eid holidays: 23 were due to medical emergencies, two were crime-related, and one resulted from drowning. On the first day of Eidul Azha alone, Rescue 1122 handled 60 road traffic accidents, nine crime incidents, and 129 medical emergencies.
